Nexus-6 recall: status at 31 October 2026
· Seattle
The Recall Office reports the progress of the Nexus-6 recall to the Turing Registry each month. This is its summary for October 2026.
Of the 2,318 Nexus-6 units commissioned at the Works in Everett between June 2021 and November 2024, 2,309 have now been recovered. Nine remain outstanding. The figure has not changed since July.
Two of the nine are among the six units reported outside their licensed domain on 12 November 2024. The other seven came to light in March 2025, when the Recall Office reconciled the commissioning records of the Works against the shipping records of the off-world settings to which units were sent, and found that the two did not agree.
How units are identified
Every Nexus-6 left the Works with a certificate of provenance, entered in the Register of Provenance in the ordinary way and signed by its makers, the Master of the Atelier and the Registrar. The Recall Office identifies units by their papers: by the certificate, the commissioning record and the hallmarks struck at assembly. It does not identify them by testing. The line was recalled because the tests then in use could not tell a unit from a person, and nothing in the past two years has given us reason to think any test now can.
We therefore ask, as we have asked since December 2024, that nobody attempt to establish by testing whether a person is a Nexus-6 unit. The attempt does not work, and it is distressing for the very large number of people who are not.
If you hold papers
If you hold a certificate of provenance, a commissioning record or any other document relating to a Nexus-6 unit, please write to the Recall Office at recall@rosenassociation.org, or by mail to the Recall Office, The Works, 1147 Marine View Road, Everett, Washington 98201. Correspondence is answered within two working days and treated in confidence.
The next summary will be published on 30 November 2026.
